I was at a funeral service this week. We were remembering a special person who was tragically killed in a motorbike accident aged only 50. Tributes to the person which had been posted on his Facebook wall were read out during the service. This was was very moving, personal and poignant. Wouldn’t it be good to write a tribute to someone while they are still alive so that they could read it? Better still, why not tell someone you appreciate them – but tell them personally?
A poem was read out during the service which spoke of life as being journey. One aspect of that journey was the idea of moving from grief to understanding. That’s quite a journey when you’re in the midst of grief. It’s a journey that can take a long time and can be very painful. The positive thing is that you don’t have to journey alone.
